Most of us are familiar with the Old Testament story of Job. He was the one whom God chose to allow Satan to afflict. To test him and see if he would break under pressure and deny God. The book of Job begins by saying that Job was...blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. The word "upright" means "complete integrity".
As we begin a new year, we, like Israel, stand at a river separating us from our tomorrows. For each of us it might be a different circumstance. In the looming challenge we know we can only cross over if God does a miracle. In the conquest of tomorrow we will never possess all the possibilities without God’s power and presence.
My family and I have been watching the series, The Chosen. It is a dramatization on the last few years of Jesus’ life and His ministry. One of the many awesome things I see in the show is the genuine love that Jesus demonstrates for ordinary people.

One of the largest spiritual awakenings in human history swept one of the most wicked cities ever, the city of Nineveh.
“To be controlled by human nature results in death; to be controlled by the Spirit results in life and peace… Those who obey their human nature cannot please God.” Romans 8:6, 8 (GNT)
