As we begin a new year, we, like Israel, stand at a river separating us from our tomorrows. For each of us it might be a different circumstance. In the looming challenge we know we can only cross over if God does a miracle. In the conquest of tomorrow we will never possess all the possibilities without God’s power and presence.
My family and I have been watching the series, The Chosen. It is a dramatization on the last few years of Jesus’ life and His ministry. One of the many awesome things I see in the show is the genuine love that Jesus demonstrates for ordinary people.
“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.” Jonah 1:2 (NKJV)
One of the largest spiritual awakenings in human history swept one of the most wicked cities ever, the city of Nineveh.
“To be controlled by human nature results in death; to be controlled by the Spirit results in life and peace… Those who obey their human nature cannot please God.” Romans 8:6, 8 (GNT)
Ephesians 5:15-16 “Be very careful how you live, not as unwise, but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”
