Missions

Solid Rock Family Church is reaching around the world with the message of Hope and Compassion of Jesus Christ through sending Missions Teams to build homes for the homeless in Mexico, conduct Women’s Conferences and Pastor/Leadership Conferences, sponsoring orphans in Kenya, as well as helping support Missionaries.

Solid Rock Family Church seeks to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ to “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” Matthew 28:19.

The Scriptural purpose of the involvement of Solid Rock in missions is:

  • To fulfill the Great Commission of Christ
    Matthew 28:19-20, Mark 16:15, Luke 24:17, John 20:21
  • To share Christ’s love for the world
    Luke 10:2, Matt 9:36-38, Matthew. 18:10-14)
  • To minister to the totality of human need
    Matthew 25:31-46, Luke 16:9, Luke 16:19-31, Luke 10:2
  • To bring men and women to the knowledge of God and to His redeeming grace
    John 3:16, Romans 10: 13-15
  • To obey Christ by confessing Him to the world
    Matthew 10:32-33, Matthew 25:41-46

Jesus shed His blood on Calvary’s cross for all humankind, every people group, every individual, and He has given to all of us who are a part of His church the directive to take His Gospel to the ends of the earth. Therefore, we remain steadfastly committed to taking the living Gospel to a dying world — the Good News of hope and salvation to “Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Myanmar (Burma) & the Philippines - January 2020

Myanmar

The Conferences in Myanmar and the Philippines were absolutely some of the best we have ever witnessed! The “Women Around the World" ladies conference in Myanmar was at the Assembly of God Church in Kalaw, on the very top of the mountain. We were shocked when service started and the building began filling up. Where were all these beautiful people coming from? On the parking lot there were only about 3 or 4 scooters and maybe 2 or 3 cars. Yet from the very first day, the church was packed with hungry ladies looking for a word of encouragement. And that is exactly what Darlene Rhodes offered them. So many were touched by the power of God as Darlene ministered in 6 services on “Just Breathe” and it was evident that the joy of the Lord was present in that church.

Thanks to Solid Rock Family Church, every lady received a special gift and many other gifts were given through drawings and games. We also had 1,000 copies of Darlene’s book, The Miracle of the Breaking, translated and printed in the Burmese language to give to every woman at the conference and the remaining books to be distributed to other churches in Myanmar.

What a great time we had in Kalaw. After the 2 day conference, we drove 3-4 hours to the city of Taunggyi, which is the capital and largest city of Shan State, Myanmar where we ministered on Sunday morning. Thank you Pastor Khamh Thang for arranging for us to return to Myanmar once again. We are eternally grateful.

The Philippines

After the Myanmar meetings, we hopped on another flight and headed to Cebu City, Philippines. Cebu is a province of the Philippines located in the Central Visayas region, and consists of a main island and 167 surrounding islands and islets.

Our host, Pastor Victor Noquiao (Assembly of God), picked us up at the airport and we began the 4 hour trek to the city of Daanbantayan. The road was littered with fallen trees and brush and destroyed houses to our right and left as we saw the utter destruction of a typhoon that had just hit the island one week earlier.

My cousin, Robert Doss and his wife, Jacel and daughter, Harley hosted us in their Philippine home before and after the conferences. As the Apostle Paul said on the Island of Malta (Acts 28:2), they showed us no little kindness. We were overwhelmed with their generosity and consideration.

The services were amazing! The leadership conference had 10 churches represented and we lost track of how many churches were represented at the "Women Around the World" ladies conference. Darlene spoke on “My Life, His Story” and again, every woman in the conference received a nice gift thanks to Solid Rock Family Church.

All I can say is THANK YOU Pastor Victor and Grace for your warm reception and we will return. Thank you Cousin Robert and Jacel. We are already planning (February 2020) to have Darlene’s book translated into Tagalog (the Philippine language) and to give away 1,000 copies in 2021.

Republic of Georgia - October 2019

In October of 2019 Pastors Darryl and Darlene Rhodes traveled to the Republic of Georgia to conduct 2 Leadership Conferences and a “Women Around the World” Ladies Conference. The first Leadership Conference was in the city of Telavi in eastern Georgia. The other two conferences were conducted at Bishop Oleg Khubashvili’s awesome church in the capitol city of Tbilisi. At the Ladies Conference the women gathered with so much excitement and expectancy. God showed up in a powerful way. What an honor it was to be able to speak into the lives of hundreds of leaders and the mighty women of Georgia.
